South Florida seniors looking to boost their wellness can tap into free health screenings, health lectures and exercise classes at the Fall into Health Fair on Thursday.
More than 50 medical vendors are offering free screenings such as blood pressure and oxygen checks as well as diabetic and Alzheimer’s screenings at the fair on Thursday, Sept. 22 at the Marjorie & William McDonald Center in North Miami Beach City Hall. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is free and open to all. North Miami Beach Commissioner Paule Villard will host a complimentary lunch after the fair starting at 12:30 p.m.
“In one setting you can meet with local healthcare providers and hospitals, and get educational information. fact sheets and health information on healthy diets, nutrition, and fall prevention,” said Marjorie Aloni, chair of the health committee for the North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Aloni said the fair also will host exercise classes, guest lectures by medical professionals who cater to older adults, and vendors will provide giveaways.
